In Sorolla's Sea with Manuel Vicent
Starting December 5th
The Palau Martorell presents "In the Sea of Sorolla with Manuel Vicent," one of the most important exhibitions, offering a unique approach: the renowned Valencian writer establishes a literary curatorship, harmonizing a dialogue between painting and words. Through his experiences, Vicent constructs a narrative that accompanies 86 works, including iconic pieces such as After the Bath, The Little Sailboat, The Arrival of the Boats, and Fisherwoman with Her Son.
The exhibition unfolds in four sections — "The subconscious is full of seaweed," "A naturalist drama under the Mediterranean light," "Bourgeois summer visitors in Cabanyal," and "The sea of Xàbia" — which allow us to rediscover the narrative force and visual poetry of an artist who masters the Mediterranean light like no other.
