The Fundació Antoni Tàpies was created in 1984 by the artist Antoni Tàpies to promote the study and knowledge of modern and contemporary art.
From a plural and interdisciplinary perspective, the Fundació Antoni Tàpies aims to establish collaborations between specialists from different areas of knowledge to contribute to a better understanding of contemporary art and culture. For this reason, the Fundació combines the organization of temporary exhibitions, symposiums, conferences and film cycles with the publication of various publications that accompany the activities and with periodic exhibitions dedicated to Antoni Tàpies. In this sense, the Fundació has one of the most complete collections of works by this artist, constituted mainly from the donations of Antoni and Teresa Tàpies.
